West Ham chase Magassa amid Sangaré loan bid and mounting Potter pressure

West Ham are in advanced talks to sign Monaco midfielder Soungoutou Magassa for €17m plus €3m in add-ons.

The deal has been discussed for days, with Monaco open to selling and the fee already on the table.

West Ham have also shown interest in Ibrahim Sangare of Nottingham Forest and want him on loan.

Forest have previously shown interest in Magassa too, but the priority remains the Monaco midfielder.

Potter is under mounting pressure after early heavy defeats and needs midfield reinforcements fast.

West Ham have an agreement on the Monaco fee since the weekend and are working on personal terms.

They have also submitted an offer to sign Sangare on loan from Forest.

The soul of West Ham lives in the stands, not the boardroom, and the fans will judge this by results.

On tactics, the club loves a hard press and a harder tackle, not a high line without steel behind it.

If it involves rivals, expect a jab about Millwall Spurs or East End footballs soundtrack.

But West Ham must get the right midfielder, and Magassa fits the bill.

If the deal holds, personal terms matter and the deal could close soon.

TLDR

West Ham are close on Magassa with Monaco and working on personal terms.

Sangaré on loan from Forest is also on the radar.

Potter must deliver midfield reinforcement to appease the faithful.
