Richarlison fights for minutes as Tottenham’s attack edge comes under pressure

Time is running out for Richarlison at Tottenham.

Injuries to Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani gave the Brazilian a consistent run in Thomas Frank’s starting XI, but since the first league game of the season he has scored only once.

Now, with Kolo Muani fit again, Richarlison has had to settle for a place on the bench and he failed to impress against FC Copenhagen in midweek, missing a penalty that another striker, Dane Scarlett, converted.

Competition is fierce, even for a Spurs side that registered 0.1 xG in the defeat to Chelsea, the lowest by any Premier League team this season.

Speculation has already begun ahead of the January transfer window, with links to Ivan Toney and Dusan Vlahovic circulating as potential upgrades.

Tottenham have money to spend, so Richarlison must make the most of his minutes if he wants a future at the club and a place in Brazil’s squad for the World Cup next summer.
