Everton Negotiating with Liam Delap as Striker Race Heats Up
Look at this, folks. Everton’s at it again, chatting with Liam Delap about making the Goodison pitch his summer stop. Delap, 22, is currently at Ipswich, but with a £30 million escape clause after they tumbled out of the Premier League. And guess what? Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle are all sniffing around too. Because if it’s a risky punt, better if it’s not on Merseyside, or so some ‘experts’ think.
David Moyes admits Everton are “a bit behind the black ball” in the race for the lad. But at least, unlike his rivals, Everton can promise Delap he’ll be the main man up front. No fancy ‘project’ rubbish, just a straight-up battle for the shirt. That’s the old-school way, isn’t it? Fight for your place, wear that badge with pride.
There’s also interest in Liverpool’s own Ben Doak from Everton. That’s a name to watch. But I’ll tell you something, this club’s always had a knack for making ‘nice’ talk but never doing the simple things right. Still, if they want to hold onto the badge, that’s what matters — no half-measures, no hope-bleeding, just grit and a bloody good fight.
The so-called top teams are eyeing Delap like he’s the missing piece of a jigsaw they hope has a few more pieces left. But Everton’s game is different. We’re not here for a fancy store-bought solution. We want players who look bothered, who turn up ready to scrap, not just fancy stats and shiny boots.
So, lad, if you’re thinking of swapping the relegation blues for a real fight, Everton might be your only option. Just don’t expect a promise of flowers, because this club’s blood and guts. It’s not for the faint-hearted. And to heaven with these so-called ‘rival clubs’ — we show up, even when it looks like we’re already beaten.
Keep an eye on this space. Fight and shape, that’s what old Everton are all about. Nothing fancy, just grit and the badge. That’s the way we like it.
