Everton Stays Loyal in Summer Ghost Town

Everton Wanderings in the Summer Ghost Town

While most teams are busy jetting about and pretending they’re doing serious work, Everton is still here, showing how we do things properly — slow, steady, and with a stubborn streak of refusal. The football world is bustling with friendlies, training camps, and even the Club World Cup, but our lot? We’re still trying to find the shape that used to mean something. Spoiler: it’s still MIA.

Everyone’s rushing off to sunny Spain, Asia, or somewhere with a decent hotel. The Gunners are in Singapore, taking on Milan, then Newcastle, then Spurs in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Everton? We’re probably figuring out if the early morning coffee’s worth the trouble or just another reminder of what’s broken inside. We don’t do fancy friendlies, just sticking to the old-school values — fight, shape, grit. If you look bothered, you’re already ahead of the game.

All these teams flying around, racking up air miles, pretending it’s training — us? We’re still rooting for a midfield that doesn’t resemble spilled tea and a defence that looks like it’s seen better days. But hey, we show up, don’t we? Even if the club’s owners keep turning Everton into a story about what not to do, we keep loyal. It’s sharper than a new kit, and just as broken — like Goodison humming, but never singing anymore.

So while Liverpool and Arsenal chase shiny friendlies and shiny reputations, Everton stays true to its roots. No fancy project talk, just the same old grit. Because at the end of the day, there’s no pride in flying about if you’re not prepared to fight for the badge. We might be terrible, love, but we’re still here, and that’s more than most.
